Incident Safety Officer (ISO)
Overview
The Incident Safety Officer (ISO) course trains personnel to fulfill the role of Incident Safety Officer as outlined in NFPA 1561 and DoDI 6055.06. Participants will learn how to analyze incident operations, identify unsafe conditions, and mitigate risks during emergency response activities.

Duration: 1.5 days instruction + 0.5 day JPR evaluation

Certification Outcome
Successful graduates earn Pro Board certification through FDSOA. Probie provides a Reciprocity Packet for submission to AFCEC for DoD record update.
Learning Objectives
Interpret and apply NFPA 1561 and NFPA 1550 as they relate to incident scene safety.
Meet DoDI 6055.06 requirements for qualified Incident Safety Officers.
Evaluate incident action plans, analyze hazard conditions, and recommend corrective actions.
Coordinate with IC and section chiefs to ensure accountability and scene safety.
Accreditation and Reciprocity
Accredited by the Pro Board through FDSOA. DoD recognition may be obtained via reciprocity submission to AFCEC Certification Authority per DoDI 6055.06 Appendix A.
